U.S. Bank Cash+® Program

Rewards Program

Participation in the Rewards Program (“Program”) is restricted to U.S. residents who are 18 or more years old (“Cardmember,” “you” and “your”) in whose name U.S. Bank National Association (“U.S. Bank,” “we,” “us” and “our”) maintains a Credit Card Account (an “Account”). Subject to the Program rules, you may redeem Rebates earned in the Program for cash reward in the form of a statement credit to your Account, a deposit into a U.S. Bank Savings, Checking or Money Market account or for a rewards card. Program administrative services are provided by third-party vendors.

Program Participation

To participate in the Program, your Account must be open and in good standing under the terms of your Cardmember Agreement. We may alter, change or terminate the Program at any time without advance notice. We may also disqualify Cardmembers who have violated any of these terms and conditions or the terms of their Cardmember Agreement with us. Determination and payment of tax liability is the sole responsibility of the Cardmember. The Program is void where prohibited by federal, state or local law.

Earning Cash Rewards

You may only earn Rebates (defined below) for Net Purchases on your Account. “Net Purchases” are determined by totaling all new Purchases charged to the Account during a billing cycle, then subtracting credits posted to the Account during the same billing cycle for returns, chargebacks and/or other adjustments. Rebates are not earned for Advances (including wire transfers, travelers checks, money orders, foreign cash transactions, betting transactions, lottery tickets and ATM disbursements), Convenience Checks, Balance Transfers, and Fees, credit insurance charges, transactions to fund certain prepaid card products, U.S. Mint purchases, or transactions to purchase cash convertible items.

You will earn an additional 4% cash back above base earn for every $1 in eligible Net Purchases spent on prepaid car, airline tickets and hotel reservations in the Travel Rewards Center using your rewards credit card. Prepaid car, airfare and hotel reservations in the travel center are not classified as a travel category merchant transaction and are only eligible for additional cash back bonus in the prepaid car, airfare and hotel reservation category. Please allow 1–2 statement billing cycles for your cash back bonus to appear on your credit card statement.

Rebates include 1% Rebates, 2% Rebates and 5% Rebates (collectively, “Rebates”). “1% Rebates” are those Rebates for which you will earn 1% of Net Purchases. “2% Rebates” are those Rebates for which you will earn an additional 1%, for a total of 2%, of Net Purchases as described below. ”5% Rebates“ are those Rebates for which you will earn an additional 4%, for a total of 5%, of Net Purchases as described below.

  1. (1) 2% Rebates are those Rebates for which you will earn 2% of Net Purchases made in 1 designated Purchase Category (as defined below). You must select which Purchase Category will apply for your 2% Rebates. If you do not make the designation you will earn the 1% Rebate in that Purchase Category. You must choose your designated Purchase Categories on a calendar quarterly basis, as described below.

  2. (2) 5% Rebates are those Rebates for which you will earn 5% of Net Purchases made in 2 designated Purchase Categories. You must choose your designated Purchase Categories on a calendar quarterly basis, as described below. You must select which 2 Purchase Categories will apply for your 5% Rebates. If you do not make the designations, you will earn the 1% Rebate in those Purchase Categories. During any calendar quarter in which you exceed $2,000 in Net Purchases in your combined two 5% Purchase Categories, you will earn the 1% Rebate for any additional Net Purchases in your 5% Purchase Categories during that quarter.

You must choose your designated Purchase Categories on a calendar quarterly basis online at usbank.com/cashplus. Merchants who accept Visa/Mastercard credit cards are assigned a merchant code based on the kinds of products and services they sell. To offer 2% and 5% Rebates based on purchase type (for example 5% cash back for Department Store purchases), we group similar merchant category codes into purchase categories (the “Purchase Categories”). Net Purchases which fall into the eligible Purchase Category will receive the stated Rebate. We make every effort to include all relevant merchant category codes in its listed Purchase Categories. However, even though a merchant or the items that it sells may appear to fit within a Purchase Category, the merchant may not use the merchant code that will fall within that Purchase Category. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that a Net Purchase will qualify for 2% or 5% Rebates as any purchase where a merchant uses a category code outside of the eligible Purchase Category will not qualify for the stated Rebate.

You must register on a calendar quarterly basis online at usbank.com/cashplus to be eligible to earn 2% Rebates and 5% Rebates. You will be able to choose designated Purchase Categories applicable for a calendar quarter's 2% Rebates and 5% Rebates beginning 45 days prior to the start of the upcoming quarter until five days prior the end of the quarter. Same-day changes to registered categories are not available. You will begin earning 2% Rebates and 5% Rebates as of the start of the calendar quarter, or the date your registration is effective, whichever is later. Allow up to 3 business days for registration to take effect before you will be eligible to earn 2% Rebates and 5% Rebates. If you do not register for your Cash+ Categories each quarter, all your eligible net purchases will still earn 1% cash back. Cash+ Categories are subject to change quarterly.

We will show on your monthly Account statement the accrued Net Purchases potentially eligible for redemption as Rebates as of the statement billing date. Your 1% Rebates earned will appear on your statement as “Cash Rewards,” and the additional rewards you earn for 2% Rebates and 5% Rebates (1% and 4%, respectively, in excess of the 1% Rebate) will appear on your statement as a “Bonus.” We reserve the right to adjust or reverse the number of Rebates that were awarded, or Net Purchases potentially eligible for redemption, for unauthorized Purchases.

Rebates may be redeemed as a statement credit, rewards card, or a deposit to a U.S. Bank Savings, Checking or Money Market account. Complete terms and conditions for the Rewards Program, including rules regarding the redemption, expiration, loss or cancellation of Rebates, award thresholds, eligibility, participation, and our right to amend or terminate the Rewards Program, are set forth in our Rewards Program Rules (the “Program Rules”) that you can access online in the Rewards Center.

The Account must be open and current to be eligible to earn Rebates. You may not redeem Rebates, and you will immediately lose all of your Rebates, if your Account is closed to future transactions (including, but not limited to, Program misuse, failure to pay, bankruptcy, or death) and as set forth below. Generally, there is no maximum annual cash rebate, but we reserve the right to cap certain 2% Rebates and 5% Rebates, in addition to limits already described in the Program Rules. Rebates are not transferrable and have no cash value until you request and receive a Rebate. Cash Rebates will expire at the end of the calendar month 36 months after the billing cycle in which they were earned.

The Account and these Rebates are provided for personal, family and household use. We reserve the right to disallow or remove Rebates awarded for Net Purchases made for other than personal, family or household use.

We reserve the right to change or cancel the Program at any time, with or without notice to you.

Redeeming Cash Rewards

The complete range of rebate redemption options is available when Cardmembers call 888-229-8864 or visit the Rewards Center at usbank.com. U.S. Bank National Association and/or third-party vendors may change or terminate participating merchants; withdraw, limit, modify, or cancel any rewards; add an unlimited number of blackout dates; or increase the number of reward dollars required for a cash reward at any time without advance notice, even though such changes may affect the accrual or value of rewards. Reward redemption is subject to availability based upon Cardmember’s Account mailing address.

You may only redeem reward dollars for cash rewards if the outstanding balance of your Account is below its credit limit and if your Account is open and in good standing under the terms of your Cardmember Agreement. All cash reward redemptions are final. Cash rewards cannot be used as payment for obligations owed to U.S. Bank National Association or its affiliates. There are no refunds, exchanges, replacements or conversions for currency, credit, or rewards for unused portions or rewards, unless otherwise noted.

You may not redeem Cash back, and you will immediately lose all of your Cash back, if your Account is closed to future transactions (including, but not limited to, due to Program misuse, failure to pay, bankruptcy, or death). Cash Rebates will expire at the end of the calendar month 36 months after the billing cycle in which they were earned.

We reserve the right to verify and adjust rebates at any time before or after posting any redemption. Once you or we close an Account for any reason, all accumulated rebates are forfeited.

Visa Branded Prepaid Rewards Cards

Cash rewards for Visa-branded rewards cards (“Rewards Cards”) are redeemed when a Rewards Card is requested by Cardmembers. At the time of the Rewards Card redemption, your cash rewards balance will be reduced by the number of cash rewards used to obtain the reward(s). U.S. Bank National Association will use its best reasonable efforts to issue a Rewards Card within 7–10 business days of your request. Rewards Cards lost in mail will be replaced at no cost to the Cardmember if correct address information is provided at the time of redemption. Once received, Rewards Cards can be replaced if lost or stolen if the Rewards Card number is available.

Rewards Cards are mailed only to the Cardmember’s billing address. Rewards Cards will be personalized with the Cardmember’s name and cannot be exchanged or refunded. Rewards Cards can be used at any merchant that accepts Visa debit cards.

Cash Rewards as a Statement Credit or Account Deposit

You can choose to redeem rebates for cash rewards in the form of a deposit as a statement credit or to your U.S. Bank Savings, Checking or Money Market account. Cash reward redemptions are deducted from the cash rewards balance when the cash reward redemption is requested by a Cardmember.

Statement credits are issued via a credit to your Account by accessing the Rewards Center at usbank.com. A credit will be applied to your Account within 6–8 weeks. Rebate dollars redeemed for a statement credit will reduce the account balance but will not count toward your minimum payment due.

Account deposit redemptions may be issued via an electronic ACH deposit only to your U.S. Bank Savings, Checking or Money Market accounts. Account deposit redemptions may not be deposited to an international account. Redemptions to a U.S. Bank checking or savings account will be applied within 7 business days of your redemption request.

You must enter an accurate routing number for the financial institution associated with your Account and an accurate account number for your cash reward redemption to be processed correctly. Routing numbers entered for a cash reward redemption are checked against the routing number directory maintained by the Federal Reserve. If you have entered your routing number correctly and it is not accepted by the Rewards Center, please contact your financial institution to verify the number. If your routing number still is not accepted, please call the Rewards Center at 888-229-8864. U.S. Bank National Association is not responsible for incorrectly entered banking information.

Real-Time Rewards

With Real-Time Rewards, you may instantly redeem cash rewards for your credit card Purchases via text messaging. The Cash Rewards redemption comes in the form of a credit to your monthly billing statement. Cash rewards will be deducted from your balance and a credit for the Purchase amount will be applied to your Account billing statement when you request redemption. For transactions which include a gratuity, fees, or estimated taxes, the statement credit may not equal your final Purchase amount. Auto bill pay transactions will be part of Real-Time Rewards text messages if the Purchase falls within your preference selections. Real-Time Rewards text messages are available only for transactions with U.S. merchants. You may sign up for Real-Time Rewards using your 10-digit U.S. mobile number. Only one mobile number may be used per credit card account. After you complete a brief enrollment profile, you need to confirm your enrollment within 24 hours by replying ‘YES’ to a confirmation message that Real-Time Rewards will send you. If any changes are made to your Account that will affect the card number, account ownership or your rewards program, you will need to re-enroll in Real-Time Rewards. Message and data rates may apply. The short code REDEEM (733336) is used by Real-Time Rewards to send redemption requests. Message frequency is based upon the preferences you select and the Purchases you make on your Account. Text ‘HELP’ to REDEEM (733336) for Help. Text ‘STOP’ to REDEEM (733336) to cancel your participation in Real-Time Rewards. All cancellations completed via text message will remove that mobile number from all accounts registered for Real-Time Rewards. You will not receive Real-Time Rewards text messages until you confirm your enrollment and preferences. You will receive a Real-Time Rewards request text message if your credit card Purchase falls within the criteria you have set up in your Real-Time Rewards preferences. You must have enough cash rewards to cover the entire purchase in order to receive a text message to redeem. Merchants who accept Visa cards are assigned a merchant code based on the kinds of products and services they sell. U.S. Bank does not control how Purchases are processed by merchants or the merchant codes they use; therefore, U.S. Bank cannot guarantee that a specific transaction will qualify. Your Account must remain in good standing in order to redeem. You may redeem by replying ‘REDEEM’ within 24 hours of when the message was sent. You may only redeem the most recent Real-Time Rewards text message. Upon confirmation of a redemption request, cash rewards will be deducted from your balance immediately, and a credit to your statement will be processed within three business days and will appear on your next billing statement. The Account statement credit for a Real-Time Rewards redemption will reduce the Account balance but will not count toward the minimum payment due. All redemptions are final. If you return the item or service that you redeemed cash rewards for to the merchant, the cash rewards will not be reinstated, but you may receive a credit to your credit card account (in accordance with the merchant’s return policy).

Travel Rewards

You may purchase travel with your rewards card through the Travel Rewards Center and earn an additional 4% cash back above base earn for every $1 in eligible Net Purchases spent on prepaid hotel, airline tickets and car reservations. All travel reservations must be booked online through the Rewards Center at usbank.com or by phone at 888-229-8864. Travel reservations can be issued in any individual’s name, but travel must be purchased by an authorized Cardmember on the Account. U.S. Bank and our third-party vendor(s) shall not be liable for any bodily and/or property damage that may result from your use of travel rewards, or the performance by the travel providers (e.g., airlines, hotels, etc.).

Your purchase for travel constitutes your agreement to the terms and conditions of our third-party vendor(s). If you book travel through the Rewards Center at usbank.com, please refer to additional terms and conditions provided in the online booking process. If you book air travel by phone, a $39 Travel Advisor Consultation fee will be charged per airline ticket, and please refer to additional terms and conditions provided on your travel itinerary. The fee will appear as a purchase listed as “CL Trip Charges” on the following month’s billing statement. There will continue to be no additional booking fees for award tickets booked online.

Airlines may impose additional fees that are not included in your award ticket, including but not limited to fees for seating, luggage and changing your ticket.

Limitation of Liability

In addition to other disclaimers set forth in these Program Rules, third-party vendors and U.S. Bank National Association make no guarantees, warranties or representations of any kind, expressed or implied, with respect to the goods or services offered by any participating merchant; and shall not be liable for any loss, expense, accident, injury or inconvenience that may arise in the connection with the use of such rewards, or as a result of any defect in or failure of such rewards. Third-party vendors and U.S. Bank National Association specifically disclaim any defect in or failure of such rewards. Third-party vendors and U.S. Bank National Association specifically disclaim any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
